LIVE

Canada is a large and welcoming country. Current federal government plans call for Canada to accept 350,000 immigrants a year by 2021.

Canada uses a merit-based immigration process called Express Entry which is based upon a competitive comprehensive ranking system. It awards points for a variety of factors including (but not limited to): education, professional accreditation, job skills, language skills and marital status.

The Government of Canada offers about a dozen different immigration programs. Each requires a specific application and documentation. While the process is meant to be fair to everyone it can be time consuming and complex.
